I don't sew. I love the look of sewing on layouts and cards but reeeeally don't like sewing. I do it from time to time by hand because I love the outcome but it's not one of my fave things to do. I tried for years to learn and love it but it never happened.

I love to sew! I find it very relaxing - that is after I get the pattern cut out LOL! The unfortunate thing is I never seem to have time. Either I'm very busy or I really suck at time management.
Anyway, I have sewn on my LO's. It's a great way to make pockets for greeting cards - I've done this for the kids' bday LO's.
I have a highly under-utilized embroidery machine. I thought once I got a craft room that would mean I would manage to get so much done... I'm not getting so much done :-(

I have sewn since I was a little girl. My mom made all my clothes, so I pretty much grew up around a sewing machine. I still love sewing...but I don't do it that much. I sew a lot around the holidays for gifts. I have a lot of fabric and have been thinking about making some new pajama pants. I got away for the week-end alot...to scrap. We all get into our pajamas and stay up all night, and I really need some new ones. I guess thinking about it doesn't really count, does it? LOL!

I have been sewing since I was little. I have made myself and my younger cousin clothes, sewn pillows and curtains, even made the crib sheets for Tucker (which is so easy it's jsut silly). I quilt too, but am certainly no master at that. Try not to look too closely at my quilts, okay? The corners never match up! I have also done a fair amount of different types of embroidery. Loved doing counted cross stitch when I was in elementary school and junior high

I used to love to cross-stitch & needlepoint. But over the years it's become too difficult. The combo of my aging eyes and my arthritis has really been a deterrent. Last holiday I made a stocking for my new son-in-law (we all have matching stockings that I have made). I couldn't believe how hard it was for me!

Oh no! That stinks! I know that little detail work is something that I can't do too much of because I will start to have a lot of joint pain.
It is so nice that you still made him a stocking to match everyone else's! That is such a neat idea

I purchased a sewing machine for $99 over a year ago to sew on my art. It is one of the best purchases I've made. It is so important to have good tools...I am such a big believer in that.

Anyway, my machine came with a video that tells you how to wind your bobbin and how to do the different stitches. I used to sew most of my clothes in high school but forgot which way the bobbin winds...clockwise or counter??? so I can pop in the video and it all comes back to me.

I sew, enjoy it, but I have many projects that I started and they just are not working as I pictured. My 4 kids were in a wedding this past fall and I made the 2 girls dresses. They turned out beautifully - bride and mother was so pleased. I'm not sure if I saved money doing it, but the dresses fit perfectly and they were exactally what the bride wanted - and my older dd felt "covered" because there were straps to the dress.

I have tons of material and patterns that I will probably never use, but I buy them on sale and frequently I will take a part of one pattern to add to another pattern.

I really can't remember NOT sewing! I guess my first memory of sewing is making doll clothes when I was 4 or 5. OK, so they were ugly doll clothes, but at least I tried! Made lots of my own clothes while in school, and then clothes for the kids, then clothes for the grandkids. I made the mistake of making pjs each year for Christmas for the grandkids, but now there are 22! I think there might be an age limit this year..or not! Did the same with Halloween costumes, but now most of the kids come up with their own.
Also love to quilt, cross-stitch (although I have the same problem as Linda...eyes are getting too old), knit, crochet, etc. I like adding stitches to my pages, too, both by hand or machine. I have lots of ideas for the Bazzill In'Stitchz--just have to sit down and do it.
If I can get these pictures up, they are from two years ago...Daniel as a scarecrow and TJ as Thomas. The scarecrow was from a pattern--Thomas was copied from a picture in a catalog.

I don't sew well or really know how to do it well. But as a young lady I made by hand clothes for my dolls and just loved sewing so much. I have made a couple patterns, 2 lol. Anyway, I would love it again, if I had time. I can enjoy many things if only I had the time to do it! lol

I have a very dear sewing machine. My grandmothers. It is old and tempermental, but it means a lot.

I hope so, because I was feeling pretty creative!  With summer well on its way, I’m getting into the fresh food groove and inspired to try some quick, simple recipes. The bright hues of the vegies reminded me of a garden party, which in turn made me remember I need to sew a few summer table [...]
