Ha where to I begin. I have a 2 year old who is more than active. I have a husband who might as well be a 2 year old. He rides motocross, golfs and plays volleyball. He is a wonderful father and helps around the house although he tends to just create the mess. I work full time in a Level 1 Trauma Center in the Trauma Surgery department, I also work in PT at another local hospital and I am an I Remember When Instructor. I LOVE all of it. However I do find it difficult to balance life sometimes. I know eventually I will have to give something up but for now I will just be a little off balanced. Hopefully with tips from others here I will begin to straighten out a little.

Hi All!
Not sure where to start. I like to say I am a SAHM, but sometimes doesn't seem that way. I have a 6 and 8 year old and a 39 year old husband who can be more work than the kids! I work from home for ZoomAlbum. I own a tie-dye business and make and sell recycled bottle cap jewelry. I teach skiing on the weekends in the winter. I volunteer at my daughter's school and teach social skills lessons in my son's Montessori Kindergarten for a tuition break (I used to be a School Counselor). I also have active kids who ski, swim, play soccer and softball, so far. I once had a palm reader tell me that I was most productive when I am multi-tasking. I guess I must have believed her. I would welcome tips on balance and becoming more organized.

Lets see.....I am 36 years old and work full time as a Speech Language Pathologist for an area school district as well as PRN for our local nursing home. I have been married to my DH Wade for 14 years. I'm an I Remember When Instructor and LOVE teaching scrapbooking to others. My weekends usually revolve around teaching scrapbooking classes, workshops, crops, home parties and vendoring events. My DH and I became parents after 12 years of marriage and a very long hard fought battle with infertility. It is tough being an "old" mommy, but I LOVE every minute of it!!! We have a very active 2 year old daughter named Marley that keeps us both on our toes! I also have had rheumatoid arthritis and fibromyalgia for 21 years now and I admit it is tough trying to manage my health and busy life some days.

Yeah, so my life is really crazy too--lol... I have 4 sons ages 11, 10, 9 and 7. I'd like for you to all be really impressed, but my hubby and I have a blended family, so we only really have all four on the weekends! (i don't know HOW ya'll do it full time-lol)

I work from home and have been in the craft industry for over 11 years now. I LOVE my career and journey in that world, but am having so much fun with my boys as they get older too....we do Pop Warner football, basketball, camping, lots of family stuff and have 2 crazy dogs who we think are children.

We rarely eat out--i love to cook and hubby helps all the time too, so that makes it easier. I wish my house was always spotless, but i've decided to take a chill on that little thought. When time is so hard to find, we just do what we can to still keep it up, make it cozy and enjoy life to its fullest.

Why is it crazy in my household...I am married x25yrs and am SAHM of 4(19yoDS, 16yoDD, 13yoDS and 11yoDS), I am an RN by profession...worked 10 yrs at the local hospital til I had our 4th child and decided I would quit trying to be SUPERWOMAN!

So, now I have been home for 11 yrs...very active in church, homeschooling our kids and trying to cr8 when I can. LOVE learning new ideas...you should see mycraft room FULL of stuff for all the ideas I hope to finish someday!

It is crazy in our household especially with three teens...but if it weren't for the white dry erase board and my calendar we would be STRESSED OUT! You have to PLAN, or PLAN to FAIL.

A dry erase board is brilliant! I'm going to have to remember that one!

Life is crazy. Life is beautiful. I love to go go go. Life is short and I want to experience every moment possible. I don't want to miss a thing. However, I'm learning that when you are going 100 miles an hour to get from one experience to the next you miss so many beautiful moments in between. In the book "Eat Live eat pray" the author tells a story about a friend. They had traveled to Italy together and as the friend looked at the beautiful sites she said, with a sad sigh
" I hope I can come back here some day" I think that it illustrates beautifully how often we are too busy looking forward and don't take the time to enjoy the now. I am learning a very important lesson that has value for every WONDER WOMAN. You CAN have it all. You CAN have every single experience that you wish for. You CAN have it all . . . but not necessarily ALL at once. How many times have you tried to pick up your childrens toys off of the floor; with your arms full you reach down to pick up just one more and suddenly the ones that were safely and securly in your arms go crashing to the ground. This is much like our lives. We can have our arms completely full. We are so BLESSED, but often we find our self discontent and we reach for just one more thing . Suddenly, our balance gets upset and often we end up dropping the things that matter most. I am trying so hard to make sure that the things in my arms right now are the most important. I will enjoy them. Then and only then will I reach for more. I honestly hope one day to find balance as a "Wonder Woman"

Reading your posts makes me feel like a "SLACKER"! My children are raised and gone now, and I have 3 granddaughters. But how I remember those days when I was picking up those endless "little wheels off things"! Kristine is right, there is plenty of time to do the things you want to do...later. You will really enjoy each thing more if you pick one or two things and do them without distraction. So many young women now have to work (and some actually enjoy working) but I see so many children who would rather have mom at home when they get there after school than to have a new car or all the latest toys. After-school sports and activities are good, as long as there is a limit! If you are throwing pizza at your children in the backseat on the way to soccer practice instead of sitting at the table talking about their day, you had better take a long look at why you are doing it in the first place. Every woman wants to make a difference in the world, but being a mom FIRST is more important than anything else. There will be time after they are gone from home to persue your interests. I cannot imagine having a babysitter or daycare worker informing me of my child's first step or first word. I know this is a very old fashioned opinion, but looking back, I would not have done it any other way. I worked at a job I loved when my children were in the last years of high school....they acted like I was abandoning them!!! I now have the time to cook, sew, craft, paint, garden and entertain, all of the things I love to do. I have done catering, cake decorating, furniture restoration and painting for profit. I even owned and operated a deli for a while. Granted, I have never done brain surgery, but I think my life has been very fulfilling. I have always known my limits, only taking on as much as I could and still do a good job without being worn to a frazzle. You are no good to anyone if you are worn out all the time. I too came down with RA a few years ago, but otherwise healthy and busy. I refuse to let it get me down, but I make sure I get enough sleep and I eat right. I can still sling 50 pound sacks of manure around the garden or cook for 100 people with 3-4 days notice if I have to, but I know how to say NO! when I reach my limit. Your children are going to grow up very fast (hard to believe when you are sitting up with a sick baby at 2:00 in the morning) but tomorrow they will be graduating college and the day after that they will have your grandchildren. Spend time with them now, enjoy them now, listen to them now. Save the world later.

thank you for sharing your perspective! I am moving into the next stage of motherhood. My kids are 12,11 and 8. I am just now getting a glimps of how quickly the time goes. When they were little I loved being a mommy. However, at the same time I sometimes felt like this was it. Was my life, my hobbies, my time was over. I remember thinking . . .will I ever get to read a book again. Will I ever get to eat a meal without being interrupted. I realize now that there is a time for every season. Yes, I will have a whole lifetime of experiences just for me. When looking at the big picture I realize that my children will only be small for a short time so I must enjoy it now! So Marilyn, thank you for your thoughts. It is so nice to here the "after the season" perspective!!!!

Is Potato Leek Soup Crafty?

I hope so, because I was feeling pretty creative!  With summer well on its way, I’m getting into the fresh food groove and inspired to try some quick, simple recipes. The bright hues of the vegies reminded me of a garden party, which in turn made me remember I need to sew a few summer table [...]
