hey girls--don't forget to use the discussion areas for chit chatting and conversations---the stuff added in the comments area that we leave here below, don't show up in recent activity or on the home page of the site, so its hard to follow up on...thx!

Ok Wonder Women, here's something for you - how do you get fabric paint out of fabric? Isn't that a very Zen question? My daughter's school made shirts and she got it on her own shirt. I will begin googling but would love any helpful hints : )

Hello to all... It is so nice to hear other women talk about their day to day struggles and the "Wonder Woman Affect" as I like to call it, or for me, the "Wonder Woman Complex". I am a WFH mommy and a 'constantly' on the go mommy! I work as a project manager for a larger corporation and as an independent instructor with IRW. I have two beautiful red heads Kiana (6) and Caitie Maude (2) and I have been married to a wonderful man (Cory) for 12 years! Now when I say wonderful, mind you he doesn't do the cleaning or laundry, and most nights he doesn't do the cooking... So far in those 12 years I have been able to get him to take the trash out once a week (so guess who does it the other days, since we all know there are 7 days in a week.) and feed the horses before and after work! Haha.... It is just really nice to hear other women talk about how they lead the same busy lives as I do...
I would love some suggestions on how to "REALLY" balance it all, cause at the end of the day if I don't have insomnia from all the thoughts racing through my head of to-do's , I just crash....

Anyway.. Thanks for letting me ramble on ladies have a great day!

Hi all, my name is Jennifer and I am a SAHM of 3 kids! (2 boys, ages 14 and 5 and a girl who is 21 months old.) Might I add that after my husband and I finally had our long awaited for Daughter we decided 3 was enough? My husband comes from a long line of boys so after 2 of our own boys we decided to give up on ever having a daughter. But to our surprise, we found we were expecting another child and the good Lord decided to grace us with our daughter!
In addition to my own 3 kids, I babysit 2 neighbor kids Mon-Fri after school until dinner time and 2 days a week I also watch my friends 3 yo for 4 hours in the am. Needless to say, I don't have much time to myself with all those kids and PTO and Church Boards. Did I mention my husband works 2 jobs?!?!? Cleaning, cooking etc. takes a lot out of you so at the end of the day my daughter falls asleep at 10:30pm and I am around 10:31pm. My husband.......oh ya, he's here! He passes out at 10pm!!!
Anyhow, thanks Jen for starting this forum. I used to think I was the only one who led such a crazy and active life. Now I see I am not alone. I hope to one day be able to say "NO" when people ask for favors as I always say yes and even put myself aside and behind the needs of others to help a friend or family member in need. It is funny though how those same people never seem to be there when YOU need THEM! Oops, got off track there, back to what I was saying..... Thanks Jen for this group as I have found you all to be super inspiring and super supportive & always ready with a word of encouragement or an open ear to sound off on. Thanks again Ladies!!!

I think I fit here most days. I have 2 children of my own and 2 stepdaughters. My kids are 8 and 10, one girl and one boy. And my SD's are 12 and 26. The two younger ones live with my husband and I.
In addition to doing most everything around the house, except for mowing the yard, I also am a High School Science Teacher. I am the junior class sponsor, the student council sponsor and the payson pride sponsor at my school. Yep, busy there.
Oh and I started my masters back in October for Administration. I will be finished with that in March of next year. Woo Hoo! I take classes every wednesday night for that, and have to meet with my group occasionally so that we can get our projects completed for class.

This week, my life is extra hectic. Monday night was softball practice for my daughter, tuesday was baseball for my son. Then tuesday night I had to go to a board meeting. Wednesday night I have my class. Thursday night I will be decorating for Prom from 5pm to 10pm. then back to school for a few hours, then back to finish up deco's for prom from noon until around 3. Get my hair done at 3, get make up on, dressed and then off to get pictures taken for prom starting at 5pm. Dance runs until 10pm and then clean up. I know that I will most likely be back on sat. to pick up more items. And then rest a bit on sat. And a second practice for baseball on sunday. At some point in time I have to write a test and get notes ready for next week. :)

But the worst for the school year will be over at that point in time, so I can then relax after that.

Have a wonderful week. :)

OMH I am laughing so dang hard!!! Your comment is cracking me up Destinae!!! I know its sounds crazy, but I WANT YOUR LIFE!!!!! Ask Amie--she could vouch for me!

How great for your kids to be learning that now a days---i wish mine could be. Were selling our house and i hope to have 2-5 acres so they can at least have to break a sweat while mowing the lawn!!!

OK so maybe I'm not as busy as the rest of you. We try to live a fairly quite life. No sports (my dh hates them), we tried music lessons, but the instructor had a heart attack the day after my kids were there! :{ The only "off the ranch" activities we do are church related. They often take us away from home no less than 4 times a week. Other than that I sit at home and scrap and eat bonbons all day, (after cleaning up breakfast for 6, as well as the cow and horse crud off my floors, feed the chickens and dogs and the occasional orphaned calf. Oh yeah and then lunch.) "What, you need me to help fix a prolapsed cow! OK, but don't forget its a twenty minute drive, one way, to get the kids from school." "Sorry I'm late, not only did we have to sew up a cows hmmhmm, then we had to rope her calf and take it to the barn to stick a tube down it's throat cause it won't suck and it needed colostrum." No seriously this has really happened. "Kids dinner will be a little late the horses got out and we all need to get out there and help dad, before they get out on the road, remember how the neighbors horse got plowed last week by a trucker!" "Honey NOT tonight, you still smell like cow."

howdy! I've got three kids (12, 10(girls) and 8(boy)) I'm a work at home mom - and I mean work :) - for Xyron/IRW. For the most part I love it - but sometimes I think people wonder why my house is a mess if I'm at home every day - HELLO, I'm WORKING! :) But I love being at home everyday when my kids get home from school and you can't beat working in your jammies.

Random thought I had (not meant to offend anyone, this is just my experience) - Have you ever noticed that the previous generation of women give us the advice that we should make time for ourselves, but when we do they seem to look down on us like we're selfish...

It's funny we can pretty much substitute just about any story (exchange the # of kids) and it could any other person's! I am a mom to one VERY rambunctous 8yr old girl..who does tae kwon do, piano, voice and brownies...I quit my job last Nov 07, and thought..great I will have SO MUCH time on my hands...fast forward to today..5 months later and I have accomplished NOTHING! All I do is chauffer the world around..my mom to her daily doctor's appts., my daughter to school, volunteer for her class trips, make costumes for plays, help the kids paint shirts for fashion shows...oh yes..buying a new house (being built) while at the same time destroying (that means renovating) 4 floors in the current house we live in all at the same time. I am now a general contractor as well! I have packed all of TWo..yes TWO shelves of ceramics ( I have about 40!!!!!!!) Notice nowhere in the madness is it mentioned that I sleep! That's because I don't! ow where the heck did I leave my golden lasso!???

Hi All! I'm a SAHM also, well sort of! I wish I was home more just like the rest of you. I have a 5 year old, 8 year old and an 11 year old. I volunteer at the kids elementary once a week and am a GS leader to a troop of 22. I'm also a hockey mom, soccer mom, lacrosse mom, volleyball mom and mom of a preschooler :). Oh and I do IRW. My DH is a busy CFO for the energy industry so he's not home much but when he is it's usually time for someone to get to some practice...somewhere!
I would love to exchange ideas on organizing my day. Most days it seems like my schedule controls me instead of me controlling my schedule.

I hope so, because I was feeling pretty creative!  With summer well on its way, I’m getting into the fresh food groove and inspired to try some quick, simple recipes. The bright hues of the vegies reminded me of a garden party, which in turn made me remember I need to sew a few summer table [...]
